What is your favorite genre? As both a reader and a writer, this question, as innocent as it seems,  arises more and more often.  It seems simple enough, but is it really? Stories, books, movies.  Genres no matter what form they take are unique, awe inspiring,  and sometimes even life changing to both authors, readers, and others.  Fantasy, with its mythical creatures and wondrous tales.  Science fiction, with its starships, time travel, and worlds both within  and far beyond our own.  Horror, with its dark mysteries and frightening monsters of all forms.  Our fears and nightmares taking shape.  Action and Adventure, a broad genre that covers pirate ships to  spies to excitingly real stories and beyond.  Non fiction, with its ability to bring knowledge, fear, anger, love,  hope, peace, and so much more to its audience.  Only to have it sink in as we realize once more that it really happened  or is happening as we observe not only in our imaginations,  but in the wo

The Mark Of A King Vol 2: Tipping The Balance By Jaylin Beam Trever has just had his first taste of battle at Fortis Castellum, and he did not enjoy it at all. Now, as The Free Kingdoms slowly push the Imperials back, Trever once again finds himself on the road, travelling with Ellis and Trever's now official mentor, Elron, heading to the hot sands of the desert. Back at Fortis Castellum, Sage has joined the ranks of Fortis Castellum's archers and now faces the hard work and unwavering discipline of the army. Meanwhile, General Thaddeus makes his way across country, hunted by Rebels and Imperials alike, his only chance of survival lying in the hands of a strange wanderer with a dark secret of his own. As the story continues, Trever, Sage, Elron, Ellis, and the others face new challenges, choices, and even suspicions as they face enemies, both old and new.  https://www.jaylinbeam.yolasite.com

Existing A glimpse into the past. Something that doesn’t last. Time passes by, though we know not why. A glimpse into the future Something that never comes to pass. The past. The future. Mere fantasies we cling to. A glimpse into the present. Something that never slips away. Even as we fantasize of futures we will never see. And pasts that will never be. The present is always there.
